3 juli 2025. On the eve of the Tour de France in picturesque Lille. Traveling by train on a glorious summer’s day to the city in northern France. As soon as I leave the station, I feel the lively atmosphere. There is something to do everywhere. The color yellow takes over the city. A crowd has gathered to cheer on our heroes on two wheels. Three weeks of fierce competition. Three weeks of peaks and troughs. Three weeks of tears of joy and sadness. Three weeks of… cycling. But first, there is time for young and old who want to catch a glimpse of their favorite rider. Cycling is a sport of and for the people. And on days like today, the people, who turned out in large numbers, do justice to this statement.
